I was able to fix the presentation by opening the Notes Pages (not the Master), then choosing If you created a new blank presentation, it wouldn't have any of the Slide Master and Layout formatting, so while the pasted material would initially look the same as the old presentation, Unfortunately, MS Tech Support is not always up on best practices.
